Sheryl Lynn (Koistinen) Cline, daughter of Curtis and Betty Lou (Pedersen) Koistinen, was born October 8, 1957 in Watertown, South Dakota. She received her education in Lake Norden Public School through the 9th grade and graduated from Hamlin High School in 1975. Sherry graduated from Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown and moved to west central Minnesota where she was employed in the respiratory therapy field and also worked as an EMT until 1986. She was united in marriage to Tim Cline on October 11, 1980 and they were divorced in 1998. She worked as a dietary aid and cook at the Villa in Morris, Minnesota from 1986 to 1988. Sherry was also employed in Home Healthcare from 1988 to 1994 when a work related injury resulted in changing her work to part time. She served as a part time secretary at the Assumption Church in 1995 and 1996 and then worked as House Mom for Lutheran Campus Ministries (LCM) in Morris from 1996 to 2007 when failing health forced her into early retirement. She lived and worked in Morris for 31 years before moving to Watertown, South Dakota in May of 2007. Sherry died on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Center in Clear Lake, South Dakota at the age of 53 years.
She was a caregiver since her early childhood. She lived for faith, family and friends. She loved working with people and became known as Mama Sherry, then later as Grandmama Sherry. She enjoyed gardening, camping, crafts and card making. The smiles and laughter of children were the highlight of her day. She loved being grandma.
Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Geri Timm and her husband Justin of Watertown; two grandchildren, Jordan and Cole; one sister Cindy Prouty and her husband Jerald of Bryant, SD; four brothers, Dan Koistinen and his wife Christi of Lake Norden, Doug Koistinen and his wife Rozann of Oceanside, CA, Ron Koistinen and his wife Louisa of Phoenix, AZ, Bob Koistinen and his wife Vikki of Lake Norden; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
